In the heart of Wooler's historic high street, a transformation is about to get underway.

After a long and arduous 14 month journey of negotiation with Northumberland Council, Bart & Taylor are thrilled to announce the green light as planning has been approved for the conversion of the Grade II listed former Barclays Bank building.

This eagerly anticipated all-day brasserie: Darcy’s, promises to be more than just another dining spot – it's set to become a cornerstone of the community, a place where locals and visitors alike can come together to partake in the essence of Wooler's market town charm.

Darcy’s, named in homage to one of the medieval families from the 1500s, follows in the footsteps of its acclaimed sister site, Adam and Eve, located in nearby Alnwick. With a dedication to showcasing the finest Northumberland produce, Adam and Eve has earned a reputation for excellence. Now, with Darcy's, Bart & Taylor are poised to extend their reach northward, bringing their commitment to locality and community to a fresh audience. Where casual yet attentive service will welcome everyone, creating a space where memorable moments are made over delicious food and drinks.

Bart & Taylor have established themselves as pioneers of innovative hospitality. With two thriving venues already gracing the South and plans for two additional openings in Croydon and Covent Garden this year. While the decision to expand into Wooler may raise eyebrows for some, it holds profound significance for Andrew Taylor. After navigating through a tedious 14 months of planning discussions, we are thrilled to embark on the journey of converting and delivering a B&T venue that embodies our core values in my family's hometown, Taylor expresses. This opportunity holds profound sentimental value, amplifying the significance of establishing a presence in Wooler.

Plans are now underway with opening scheduled for later this year.
