We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and hands-on Head Chef at Adam & Eve, Alnwick. This role is perfect for an ambitious Sous Chef ready to step up, or an experienced Head Chef or Kitchen Manager looking for their next rewarding challenge. We want someone who takes immense pride not only in the dishes they create but also in nurturing and leading a skilled, enthusiastic team from the heart of the kitchen.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing day-to-day kitchen operations within a quality-focused restaurant or brasserie setting. You’ll bring both classical and contemporary culinary knowledge, and you’ll thrive creatively when designing innovative, seasonal menus. You should be enthusiastic about developing your team, ensuring effective training, scheduling, and rota management, all while staying within set labour targets.
We’re looking for a true ‘foodie’ who leads by example. Someone who excels in a dynamic kitchen environment, embraces learning new cuisines and techniques, and enjoys close collaboration with suppliers to source the best produce possible, creating exceptional dishes that remain profitable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by example in a hands-on kitchen environment
- Manage and take full accountability for all kitchen operations
- Recruit, train, mentor, and retain your culinary team
- Create and innovate menus, ensuring quality, seasonality, and alignment with company goals
- Effectively manage your team’s schedules and rotas to meet labour and profitability targets
- Ensure consistent exceptional guest experiences
- Maintain GP targets and manage site stock holding and inventory
- Adhere strictly to food safety, fire safety, and Health & Safety regulations
- Implement and uphold company processes and systems
